Zusammenfassung

'Sometimes it is easier to describe the way rather than the goal.' -- this is especially true for searching documents in current desktop environments. Classical keyword search is only partially sufficient to manage large amounts of data, like the emails and documents of an average user. Several studies show that navigational approaches in searching fits better with the natural searching strategies of human beings. This paper presents the DynaQ system aiming to increase information retrieval by combining faceted search with the state of the art searching paradigms Orienteering and Dynamic Queries. DynaQ stands for 'Dynamic Queries for document-based personal information spaces'.
