The MELLOW research project aims to improve two key aspects of the shoe manufacturing process: Firstly, the development and introduction of an AI-based assistance system will make it easier for workers to ensure product quality during production. Secondly, cooperation in international factory networks is to be promoted in order to improve work and process quality. In this context, collaboration islands with planners and workers should help to strengthen cross-location social standards and ergonomic working conditions.
The project “Smart collaborative workflow development in the footwear industry – MELLOW” is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) and the European Union via the European Social Fund Plus (ESF Plus) as part of the “Future of Work” program (funding codes 02L23B040 to 02L23B044) and managed by the Project Management Agency Karlsruhe (PTKA).
