Vision Paper on Agora Data Science Ecosystem Accepted for Publication in SIGMOD Record

| Data Management & Analysis | Intelligent Analytics for Massive Data | Berlin

A vision paper by researchers from the Intelligent Analytics for Mass Data (IAM) research area and the Database Systems and Information Management (DIMA) department at TU Berlin has been accepted for publication in SIGMOD Record. In the paper, "Agora: Bringing Together Datasets, Algorithms, Models and More in a Unified Ecosystem [Vision]," the authors describe their vision of a unified ecosystem that unifies data, algorithms, models, and computing power and makes them accessible to a wide audience.

The Agora data management system operates in a decentralized and dynamic environment in which data, algorithms, and even computing power can be dynamically created, modified, and removed by different actors. It is intended to enable the flexible exchange of assets among users, thereby also mitigating the problem of a lock-in effect among the few data management system vendors that currently make the large investments in the multitude of assets required for such a system alone.

A preprint version of the paper (PDF) is available for download.
