The AdAgriSpray project is developing AI-supported sensor technology for the adaptive control of pesticide and fertilizer applications in agriculture, particularly for the protection of water bodies. The aim is to automatically detect water bodies and temporary water accumulations using intelligent sensor technology directly on agricultural machinery in order to comply with legal distance requirements efficiently and independently of map material or GPS data.
The combination of synthetic data, edge AI models, and modular hardware is creating a prototype system that is being evaluated on real test sites. The results will be put into practice and, in the long term, contribute to reducing the use of pesticides and promoting sustainable agricultural technologies in Lower Saxony.
