The Smart Fridge is fitted with an integrated intuitive interface which grants access to individual product memories - location-, time- and product-related data in the life cycles of product entities, e.g., information about transportation processes and storage temperatures.

Functionality

The Smart Fridge is fitted with an integrated intuitive interface which grants access to individual product memories - location-, time- and product-related data in the life cycles of product entities, e.g., information about transportation processes and storage temperatures.
The fridge content as well as important product features associated with it, like e.g., best-before dates and potential warnings, are displayed.
With an integrated easy to use interface, electronic shopping lists can be created and modified. The latter are automatically synchronised with a mobile device and support the shopping process.

Infrastructure

RFID-Tags: attached to products and used to identify them.
RFID-Antennas: placed inside the fridge in order to recognize when tagged products are taken out or put into the fridge.
Touch Screen: integrated into the door of the fridge; offers access to the available internal and external user supporting services.
Ipod Touch:mobile device with WLAN access which offers intuitive access to the user's current personal electronic shopping list, e.g., in the Globus supermarket.
Sensors: temperature sensors in the fridge and in the environment provide measured data.
