Zusammenfassung

Interactive exercises in a TEL system are essential for train-ing and assessment of learner’s mastery of concepts. We present an ap-proach to authoring and generation of interactive exercises in multiplemathematical domains powered by domain reasoner components, capa-ble of step-wise reasoning in a domain. The novelty of this work is theseparation of domain intelligence from the exercise machinery, in whichthe exercise player is unaware of the domain and the domain related ques-tions such as diagnosis of learner’s actions are forwarded to the remotelyconnected domain reasoners. Furthermore, this architecture allows forquerying different domain reasoners from within one exercise, which en-ables mixing different math topics in exercises such as using a domainreasoner for algebraic equations within analysis domain for a well-knowncurve sketch problem
