Abstract

The evolution in the wireless mobile communication has paved way for Beyond 5G (B5G) and the beginnings of the Sixth Generation (6G) standard promises to provide an increased network bandwidth with large number of connected Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Additionally, the transition from the physical to virtualized infrastructures, softwarization of architectures enables significant flexibility of resource utilization with higher performance. Therein, resource management and resilience of the virtualized platforms play an important role in the wireless mobile communication. Consequently, the paper proposes a concept capable of handling abrupt CPU failures during runtime to increase the resilience of virtualized Fifth Generation (5G) communication systems. Moreover, the proposed concept is evaluated using Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) equipment. The results clearly show that the application of this approach increases both availability and resilience of the system
