Complex technical systems and vehicles are in use for many years. Innovative technical developments and legislative changes require regular alterations and renovations. At the same time maintenance is required continuously. Thus, companies are faced with the dual challenge of ensuring the experience of older employees over the entire life cycle and the quick integration of new employees to the knowledge of the company.
In the project PLUTO this knowledge will be reocrdeed in mixed-age teams of technicians with the help of mobile assistants directly at the workplace. By means of multimedia data and multimodal access via language or gestures the knowledge required at the workplace is immediately accesible to all employees, situation-adapted and customized to the situation. The transfer of knowledge between the employees is organized through communication with a knowledge database. A living system is provided which is continuously filled and updated in work processes.
